Step 2: Choose Font Type 

The Mil-Spec Matte Dog Tag can be customized with any of these Stamped fonts and any of these Laser Engraved fonts shown.

Stamped Fonts

Stamped fonts are UPPERCASE, unaccented characters mechanically pressed into the metal either Embossed above or Debossed into the surface. The Embossed font is most common as it is modern mil-spec and easy to read.

Embossed Mil-spec

2mm x 3mm characters are raised above surface. This modern military font is the most popular, select this if you are unsure. Has the most available characters & symbols:

Debossed Mil-spec

2mm x 3mm characters are indented below surface. Used in WWII, Korea, & Vietnam war era. Can be darkened. Harder to read than embossed type:

Large Embossed +$1

3mm x 4.5mm characters are raised above surface. Larger than regular mil-spec font makes it easier to read. Limited available characters:

Braille Characters +$2

4.3mm x 6.3mm Braille Cell with dots raised above surface. Use as mini Braille signs or tags for the blind. Can be combined with regular EMBOSSED letters on separate line.

Laser Engraved Fonts

Laser engraved characters are burnt into the surface of the metal. Unlike Stamped Fonts, these can be capital & lowercase, in small or large font size, have more characters to choose from (i.e. accented), can be double-sided, and can fit more information on more lines. If you need a logo or special characters see our Custom Laser Options.

To increase from 6 to 8 lines and to fit more characters per line use Advanced Layout Options under Step 1 and set the font size to Smaller.

New Roman Laser Engraved

New Roman Manuscript style without serifs, fixed-width monospaced, 2mm or 2.5mm text height. With this font you are buying a single tag with double-sided text.

Cursive Laser Engraved

Cursive Handwriting style, fixed-width monospaced, 2mm or 2.5mm text height. With this font you are buying a single tag with double-sided text.

Typewriter style with serifs, fixed-width monospaced, 2mm or 2.5mm text height. With this font you are buying a single tag with double-sided text.

Step 4: Choose Dogtag Silencer 

Sorry, silencers are not available for wristbands. If you would like a dogtag set with silencers please select a different fastener type.

Silencers are included for free and can be easily installed or removed by stretching its circular band around the edge of the Dog Tag. They may vary slightly from what is shown and may eventually tear, especially when used in a rough environment. Do not use for pet collars since they may chew or swallow them. Step 5: Choose Chains/Fastener

A standard military Dog Tag set is typically worn with a long and short steel chain which is the default option at no extra cost, or you can choose from a variety of other fasteners. A premium chain, 2nd long chain, or an optional sheath or pinch-bail incurs an extra charge. You can order extra fasteners here.

Make life easier by having your Leather Cuff Dogtag pre-assembled with your chains… ready to wear. Most people can easily assemble it themselves, but is ideal for those with arthritis or limited hand dexterity.
