Our shiny dogtags are made of mil-spec 304 grade (non-magnetic) stainless steel and are anealed to a shiny finish so that you can see a reflection in the tag.

18/8 stainless steel is the most widely used and flexible austenitic form of stainless steel. The numbers 18/8 represent the composition of this steel; it is 18% chromium and 8% nickel, making it very resistant to corrosion and oxidation. It is highly durable and easy to fabricate and clean. 18/8 stainless steel may also be known as austenite steel or 304 grade steel.

Finish - BA

The Bright Annealed BA finish on this tag is accomplished via an annealing process which does not produce a scale on the stainless steel surface finish. This results in a reflective mirror-like finish without further processing.

Embossed Characters per Line

The amount of characters per line is depedent on the size of the dogtag, dogtag orientation (i.e. rotated), Character Density CPI (Characters per Inch), & Start Position (i.e. closer to hole). Some of these settings can be changed under the Show Advanced Layout Options in Step 1 of the Dogtag Maker page.
