Certain jurisdictions with special trapping restrictions require metal ID tags to be attached to furbearer traps to identify the owner of the trap.
For example the Kentucky Dept of Fish and Wildlife Resources requires that the tag attached to the trap to show the ownerβs full name and address OR a unque ID number issued by the department and the 1-800-25-ALERT phone number. Any trap found without a tag can be immediately confiscated by the department without a court order.
