Salmon 'Flesh-tone' PVC sleeve with optical prescription. Completely hides Dogtag. Official government issue.
These caucasion flesh-tone (salmon) colored dog tag silencers were worn by soldiers who wore spectacles. The soldier's eyeglass prescription was written on both the front and back of the cover with a ball-point pen.
This Dogtag Cover is actually the only form of silencer ever officially authorized by the US Government for use on military ID dogtags.
The sleeve can also be used to hold small paper notes alongside the dogtag, ideal for medical information.
Specifications: Military Specification: Cover, Personnel Identification Tag Nov 26, 1975 (originally from http://assist.dia.mil which is no longer active).

We offer historically popular military styles such as Black Silicone, Black PVC and specialty silencers like the Full Coverage Clear Silencers, replicas of WWII era "gas mask hose" Silencers, and spectacle prescription covers. All Silencers on this page are sold individually (not in sets of 2). If you would like to order a complete set of 2 Dog tags with chains and silencers, go to our Dog Tag Maker page.
Silencers can be easily added or removed by stretching it around the Dog Tag. They may vary slightly from what is shown and may eventually tear, especially when used in a rough environment. Do not use silencers for pet collars since they may chew or swallow them.
